Surely that's not right?
By default middle button pastes current primary selection. That's different from clipboard selection that you manipulate with Copy/Paste menu items or keyboard shortcuts. If vi redefines middle button to control clipboard instead of primary selection, this sounds like it behaves as expected. What is pasted when you use Edit/Paste menu option in your application instead?
I'm running 'vi' in konsole, when I use menu->paste I get a third result.
1) middle button, in konsole gives me "deny client-updates;" (as expected, the text most recently selected with the mouse). 2) middle button in vi in konsole gives me "1 M c2e8a6d" (not expected)
When vim is compiled with X11 support (which is true for text-only version), and mouse support is enabled (check "mouse" option), middle button pastes vi unnamed register. SHIFT-middle button forwards mouse click to underlying terminal and so should behave like 1).
3) konsole-paste gives me " one result.". (not expected).
I don't know if vi has redefined anything.
