Known issue.
But I don't remember the exact explanation :-}
I think it is an interaction between your mail using mime and the mail server used by the mail list, when it adds the information at the end about the list. It has been asked before, just that I couldn't find the answer for you. Someone else may remember ;-)

If someone's mail client is configured to produce Base64 encodes mails, all mailing list users will see garbage on the end of the mails. The garbage comes from the footer. The footer is not Base64 encodes, it's plain text. To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org It's an issue of the mailing list software. Unfortunately the mailing list admins refuse to solve this. They say, that the available solutions are hacks, no real solutions. As a work-around we can tell the Base64 users how to change their mail client settings. But there are many mail clients out there.
