What is technically the difference between the packages proxychains and proxychains-ng?
I tried to understand but they seem identical. Is one a fork? Why was it forked then? Because both claim to do the very same thing AFAIU.
Did you look at last release dates of both projects?
I suspect 'ng' as an English-centric abbreviation for 'next generation' probably wasn't readily apparent to the OP. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hum, I am going to be more "explicit". Why does proxychain stay in the repo if git-hub claims: continuation of the unmaintained proxychains project O.K.......the presence of proxychains in the repo is: a) fruit of necrophilia? b) love for the tradition and good old times c) because it works...and the next generation does not d) because the "next generation" is still beta? e) because it does something that NG cannot do? I have to decide which one to install and to use, so it would be nice to do it with an informed (call it educated) decision. Thank you, (I hope the explains it a bit better.
