Ah okay - well, the systemd journal is the gateway to the syslog daemon. I think we're back to removing /var/log/journal - there may be something in /etc/systemd/journal.conf too, but I remove /var/log/journal. Just another item on the checklist
Alternatively remove /var/log/message and rsyslog (or syslog-ng).
Once again, let me refer to

on how to configure and use journald/journalctl properly.
Anton, it's bit of a pointless discussion (as syslog-ng does an excellent job). Removing /var/log/messages and syslog-ng is not a solution to anything. As for "how to configure and use journald/journalctl properly", I have better things to do. I have a working setup with a syslog daemon, trying to bend it to work with journald/journalctl would only be a waste of time. Also, using syslog-ng means I can have the same setup across machines of different generations (pre and post systemd). -- Per Jessen, Zürich (3.2°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
