I've been using adobe flash player in firefox browser to listen to live radio stream and it practically never crashed.
Do all the streams you want only work via Flash? Lots have made modern, better media types available that HTML5 browsers can play without a plugin.
Recently I've changed my mobo and processor with built in intel graphics. Previously I had standalone nvidia graphics card and used nvidia proprietary driver with nomodeset option in grub. With the new hardware I use (I guess) nouveau driver and I removed nomodeset option from grub. I haven't changed the
Nouveau has no applicability to uniquely Intel gfx.
LONG SNIP Felix, Carlos, Andrei: Thanks for suggestions. Setting or removing nomodeset option from boot do make difference in how intel graphics driver loads. The differences what I see are in terminal boot screen fonts (sizes) and mouse pointer behavior. For example if nomodeset is set, the mouse pointer disappears on certain areas of the screen, for example on window titles, or on xsane's preview window. If I remove nomodeset the pointer behaves normally. Xorg.0.log files also show differences. Back to my question I found on some ubuntu forum site that including the following lines in /etc/adobe/mms.cfg file may solve crashing: OverrideGPUValidation=true EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode=0 I made the file in /etc including both lines and since then there are no crashes. I will see how long it lasts. Thank you for your help, Istvan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
