Subtext and slightly off topic. This is one reason I have a very small ROOT file system and lots and lots of mounted file systems. In maintenance mode I can unmount then all and easily fsck them. Yes the ROOT-fs is another matter, ... And lets not even THINK about what life is like with a BtrFS that encompasses the whole of the file system hierarchy in one FS ... And where is the fsck for THAT and how will this problem that basic describes be dealt with then?
