I notice a grow of linux systems till 2011 followed by a decrease in favor of Android (kind of linux?).
This shows than surfing is very often nowadays done from mobile device (android+ipd+iphone=36.6%)
Windows become minority in favor of unix systems (as Mac is unix)
but what have to warn us is that linux is 3.1% and what can be in this openSUSE? probably less than 1%
I wonder of two things:
* what exactly is a linux system (Mac, Android are they Linux even in some respect?) * is such market share livable, specially when we see it's lowering. Can we challenge Android on portable devices?
Nptice mac continue growing, may be because the Apple ecosystem
Not 'ecosystem' so much as specific software tools. Apple has always favoured de development and application of graphical editing & composition. Nothing new there. Android tablets also have favoured graphical tools & editing. With them its more a matter of convenience. Take the photos, even if its not of the quality of you Canon/Sony/Nikon[1] DSLR/mirrorless and edit it on the spot. BYDT. Just soooooo convenient. Fun, Fun, Fun... But for serious aka professional high-res photo editing people tend to use something like Adobe Lighttable ... Although I'd use Darktable :-) [1] Need to add Fuji, Samsung and others depending on budget, availability and prejudice. I carry a Fuji 'pocket[2]' camera almost as much as my Android phone and it has a larger sensor/lens than the phone, but is more accessible than the Canon DSLR. Remarkable quality for many situations but needs to use RAW+Darktable to get the best. [2] Phones are the ultimate 'pocket' and 'instant' camera. The quality of a 5M or 8M phone is good enough for web sites, the limitation being the skill of the operator. Modern photoediting tools in phones can make up for many shortcomings :-) -- /"\ \ / ASCII Ribbon Campaign X Against HTML Mail / \ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
