I have checked this out but it is as if the lid close button in not detected by the system. I have tried using xev and the Fn keys and lid do not show any input on this model laptop, or in fact on any Toshiba laptop I have been able to try so far. On my thinkpad, xev shows an event when I close the lid and press the Fn keys
I had Toshiba notebook in the past and it needed special driver; you could try toshiba_acpi if it makes any difference.

Anyone have any suggestions? This thread has gone quiet.
Hi Have you looked at /etc/systemd/logind.conf to adjust the lid options here?
