After doing zypper patch, I often see this:
- ---cut--- # zypper ps The following running processes use deleted files:
PID | PPID | UID | Login | Command | Service | Files
- -----+------+------+-------+-------------+---------+----------------------------
6114 | 1 | 1000 | bob | threaded-ml | |
/usr/lib64/libcurl.so.4.3.0
You may wish to restart these processes. - ---cut---
What is threaded-ml, and how should I restart it? Logout/login doesn't work, and I don't want to keep rebooting.
ps aux 6114
threaded-ml is related to a specific app which needs to be restarted.
Aha. It was mpd. Many thanks. Still learning new tricks.
and usually you do not need to reboot, but perhaps "init 3" -> "init 5"
gets a little more hairy if systemd pid 1 is noted. systemctl daemon-restart does not always produce the desired result.
