- some of these re-partitioned those old 'crapped-out' hard disks seem to go on for ever - like 10 years of once-a-month use ?
{ i dunno ??}
yes. random curve. Some disks do not like to be stopped. A very long time ago, I was a teacher and every September some of the disks didn't start. Sometime, hitting them firmly on the table revived them (probably lubricant problem). but this was a long time ago, not seen this for years. on a n other side, I have seen 3 SCSI Hard drives dead on the same computer., that was unused for some month. other parts also wgere dead, May be a thunderstrike (on not connected machine????) anyway better have three copies :-) jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
