Okay, then setsid won't help. The parent will still have the PID of the child and can kill it. How about trapping the TERM signal in your script?
He, that's exactly what I'm doing. We were exploring other posibilities, because what happens is that, although my script survives the killing attempts, children called from my script do not survive.
