Further, on first launch of FF 30, all my add-ons were crammed in the address bar (what a mess). However, I could rearrange them. Now, nothing moves at all. I cannot rearrange anything. Also, when I have the add-ons in the green config box and I say "Move to Toolbar" it is a complete dice-roll where they end up. How do you actually configure FF 30 toolbar? What is the trick? It used to be so simple.
Here is another bit of info. When started in --safe-mode, I can rearrange options, so it looks like FF30 breaks when updated to the new version with addons present.
I also created a testuser account free from any addons and tested firefox there. I was able to add status4evar and get a real status bar at the bottom without any issue.
So FF 30 has problem when updated with the following addons (I have had since FF 3.X days before the "keep up with chrome version race began..." The few addons involved are:
AdBlock Plus Beef Taco Copy Pure Text Hide Menubar keyconfig NoScript Status-4-Evar Stylish
The problem is: HOW DO I FIX MY INSTALL? I still have NoScript stuck on the Bookmarks Toolbar and it will not budge - even in safe mode. Do I remove all addons, restart and then reinstall the addons?? Sure seems like there should be a simple way to fix this. Ideas FF gurus?
Hi David, I don't know if you are using FF under KDE or GNOME - I use KDE and if I want to rearrange or, as you call it, 'move' the icons in the toolbar I first move them BACK into the CUSTOMISE menu and then drag them to where I want them on the toolbar. In this CUSTOMISE menu there are also 'space' available and I use this to great a space on the toolbar for an icon - you get the picture. Re whether an icon should go on the toolbar or the status bar, some of the extensions (like AdBlock) gives you that option in their Preference options. But you already know all this, right? so take it as me trying to be helpful :-) .
