I speak of LibreOffice.
The version which is available from the openSUSE repositories is 4.1.6.
The latest stable version available from libreoffice.org is version 4.2.4.2.
Now, that's quite a difference wouldn't you agree? </Quote> BC When did you try install 4.2.4.2 from the TDF website?
Read my first post.
I installed it two weeks ago with no dependence problems. It normally installs in a different directory than the openSUSE version so I now have 4.2.4.2-2 from Document foundation in /opt and 4.1.6.2-3.1 from openSUSE update repo in /usr. Both work but neither has solved all the problem with docx and xlxs documents from MS. (Mainly format and graphic issues.
Neither had dependency issues because they went into seperate folders I suspect. i can open almost all of my .odt and ods documents with no issues with either one. I assume you tried to update your 4.1.x with the 4.2.4.2 from TDF. I do not think that will work.
I agree with you on the repo's. The last time I looked in Factory it had an earlier version than the update repo.
