We have a couple of laptops in the office that use openvpn whenever they're on the road. This has worked fine for a few years. Recently, we upgraded the firewall including the openvpn server to 13.1, which went fine, but now I'm having problems getting openvpn to work. It seems to be working, but the client config is screwed up. The tunnel device receives a config like:
tun0: link/none inet 255.255.255.0 peer 192.168.13.10/32 scope global tun0
The VPN is 192.168.13.0/24, but the client address being 255.255.255.0 is completely gaga. Any hints?
Okay, I seem to be missing the "topology" config parameter, which I have now set to "subnet". However, with the older openvpn setup, the clients would receive something like this:
"push_reply,route ....... [snip] ifconfig 192.168l.13.9 192.168.13.10"
This ifconfig would create the correct config for the tunnle device.
With the newer openvpn, I see this instead:
"push_reply,route ....... [snip] ifconfig 255.255.255.0 192.168.13.10" ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Why I am getting this sort of config???
I am able to correct the config by adding the correct addresses and deleting the above manually, but surely something isn't right here. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (7.2°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
