# shutdown Failed to tald to shutdownd, proceeding with immediate shutdown: Connection refused Failed to open /dev/initctl: No such device or address Failed to talk to init daemon # I haven't tried the power switch yet. I prefer not to. I can troubleshoot this for a day or two before I need to get that desperate. == background My 13.1 based laptop has decided to act up. I don't recall apply "zypper patch" recently, but I might have. Anyway 2 major issues: 1) wireless lan is not connecting. My first attempt at a fix was to reboot. 2) Reboot failed I'm now at the command prompt (X is gone). Startx works, but I just shut it back down so I can focus on the real issue. Any suggestions welcome Thanks Greg -- Greg Freemyer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
