Broadcom wifi - does not show in network manager or network settings therefore unusable (does show under device info)
These cards usually require firmware.. did you tried "install_bcm43xx_firmware" as root ?
I had the same problem when I installed openSUSE 12.3 on my wife's Dell Vostro 3700. The bcm43 stuff didn't work, but the Broadcom STA driver did. http://www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php Download the relevant 32 or 64 bit driver package from that site, as well as the README.txt file, which contains explicit instructions on how to install the kernel module. In my case, I had to blacklist all the other drivers, but this is all explained in the Readme file.
