Which one of those applies to a 12.3 DVD iso hosted on NFS? Nothing I've tried works, forcing me to HTTP install, aka download what's already been downloaded, wasting time and bandwidth.

to work, but the installer "could not find the openSUSE 12.3 repository" (with or without the udev.... part).
I don't know about nfs, but one way you can do it using your local network without any extra downloading or disk space, is by loopback mounting the iso and sharing the mount point via http, then use install=http://host/path/to/mountpoint. Even with having to set up the loopback mount it seems like less fuss to me than nfs. On the install server: cd /srv/www/htdocs mkdir os1230 mount -o loopback /path/to/os1230.iso os1230 On the install client: boot: install=http://install-lan-ip/os1230 Just for the record I actually usually do it by mirroring the ftp install source with rsync so for most versions I have a local copy of part of the ftp site instead of an iso, and I don't bother having a loopback mount like that for 15 different versions of opensuse. But it works exactly the same. I DO use the mounted iso trick once in a while for various reasons. In fact you don't even really need to say install=... on the boot prompt, you can enter it interactively in some early screens of the mini/net iso.
