Hi We're running out of space on old amd fileserver with a sata II disk. It's been doing 12 hour days for several years. I've found good deals on these: http://www.pccomponentes.com/seagate_barracuda_7200_12_500gb_sata3.html
I have several of these, some near 12000 hours of use. I like them. One was bad the day of purchase, and I returned it to the seller. The replacement has now 12000 hours. Another one, I'm not sure if a 500 or a 320, wen bad after 2000..3000 hours of use, while on warranty, and I had to return to the manufacturer. The replacement I use for moving things from one place to another. Now I'm buying the 2 2TB version of those. Look at the price per gigabyte, not only at the price per unit.

These I have not tried.
When the disk is in place, can I do all this with the 12.3 Yast?
All? No :-) - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R.
