zypper I dunno. I don't like it for these things. Yesterday I tried to use it to install acroread. I didn't notice that it had autoselected another gigabyte of files till it had been working for 15 minutes... I was on another workspace. I aborted it, nothing installed. Thankfully.
With yast I get a pop-up warning. More difficult to miss.
Are you inferring that "zypper [dup/up]" installs or upgrades items w/o first presenting you a list of those items? I have never experienced this. And because I am concerned about what is going to to be changed, I use "zypper -v [dup/up]" which offers some explanation. The use of "-vv" gives more detailed information. And I seldom defer to yast2 any more since zypper from the cl is so useful. I still like the information available in yast but prefer zypper day-to-day. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
