View your logs. ALWAYS VIEW YOUR LOGS! In particular, see what events get logged as you remove and plug in the power adaptor. It won't give you the "Ah!" solution but it will give you hints and more to the point HARD EVIDENCE about what to look for. I don't think this is a 'blacklist the adaptor' issue so much a setting problem. When I was using KDE on my laptop there was a setting as to what should and should not be run in 'power saving' mode. Something under 'systemsettings' ... different activities perhaps.
