Hi all,
I would like to move data between two computers. One is a box running oS 12.2 and is connected to a router via cable. The other computer (netbook with oS 12.1 or android ICS tablet) connects to the same router via wifi. Asking whatismyip in a browser gives the same result, so setting up and ftp connection based on IP is not possible. So how can I share data between the machines? I mean without connecting them with a cord.
Thanks and best regards, Albert
whatismyip will return your WAN address which is owned by the router. Each of your clients using the router will have its own LAN address. There are many ways to share data on a LAN. Probably the most common is samba/cifs; which uses a share name like Windows. If you want to use ftp, you can use the LAN address. Or you can set up NFS, too. Or there are programs like rsync. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
