Hi, I produce a monthly newsletter using Microsoft Word 2000 in WinXP. I then convert it to a pdf file for distribution to the recipients.
When I try to open the .doc file in LibreOffice in Linux, it gets everything all jumbled up. I am using opensuse 12.2 with KDE Platform Version 4.9.5 "release 3", and LibreOffice 4.0.0.1. I have tried this in LO 3.6 as well, and it also opens incorrectly in that version. [pruned]
Downloaded the pdf (cgi) file and I can view it perfectly using LO 4.0 (as well as using Okular of course).

Hi Basil, are you able to view the .doc file without problems as well? There was a previous post that reported that he could view the .doc file without problems in LO.
Mark
OK, now I got the .doc file and, yes, absolutely no problems with viewing it in LO (I am using 4.0.0.1RC1) as you can see here: http://susepaste.org/24071268 BC -- Using openSUSE 12.2 x86_64 KDE 4.10.0 & kernel 3.7.2-1 on a system with- AMD FX 8-core 3.6/4.2GHz processor 16GB PC14900/1866MHz Quad Channel Corsair "Vengeance" RAM Gigabyte AMD3+ m/board; Gigabyte nVidia GTX550Ti 1GB DDR5 GPU -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
