Hi Anton, thanks for your reply, but before trying this route you suggested, I should point that I have installed another printer through CUPS without problem (brother dcp 7040). Even if this other printer is currently running without issues, is it possible that the issue you suggested could be the reason of the problem with xerox?

With this info now provided I would say the problem is that the printer just isn't supported by cups properly.
I did ask how they were connected. That's because, even with the information above, I can come up with a scenario where more than one printer is physically connected and its not a cups problem.
For example, one is connected via the lp port and one is connected via a serial port. or USB port. Or network.
So yes, the ** issue I suggested **, that of ** access control ** _could_ be the reason.
So I ask again, how are these printers connected? Only when we know that can we say that cups does or does not support the printer.
Neither www.openprinting.org/ or http://www.cups.org show the printer as being supported. That does not mean it will not work only that it is not likely to work as the OP has stated. And the pronter that Davi has working is a supported printer so one would guess that the print system is working. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
