One of the two boxes I have here has a blu ray drive. the box double boots 12.2 64 bit and windows 7 64 bit. it is basically my son's box for gaming and multimedia. Amongst other things he uses w7 to play blu ray discs. His and my preferred media player is vlc but on w7 he has to use a propritary player to play blu rays.
So my question is :
Is there a way to play blu rays in linux preferably in vlc but doesnt have to be I have mplayer and kaffeine available,
and as an aside accepting this is not a windows forum can vlc be made to play blu rays in vlc ?
I'm running os 12 2 64 bit kde4 9 4.
TIA

Have a read of this page https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/BluRay it is very illuminating and I have got many bluray discs to play following this information. Additionally there is also makemkv which works very well and can generate a stream that you can play through vlc.
