Did you run sa-update to retrieve the lastest rules? If not, /usr/share/spamassassin will be empty and spamd won't start with that.
No, I did not. I never needed to do it. But it fails, same problem: minas-tirith:~ # sa-update -v Update available for channel updates.spamassassin.org config: no configuration text or files found! do you need to run 'sa-update'? check: no loaded plugin implements 'check_main': cannot scan! Check the necessary '.pre' files are in the config directory. minas-tirith:~ # I also created .spamassassin and spamassassin folders (I don't know which one is the one), no difference. - -- Cheers Carlos E.
