The concept of runlevels is obsolete in systemd from what I understand. Systemd works with 'units' and/or 'targets'.
The installation system of 12.2 contains a window to choose runlevel 3 or 5 for the installed system.
And 3 on Grub cmdline still causes a boot to tty1 on systems than normally boot directly to an xdm. Imagine trying to remember to append whatever?.target if 3 no longer performed that task! :-p
Absolutely. But I found a bug there: with the 3 method in grub line, I don't get a prompt for the passphrase of the encripted data partition. I reinstalled the system, this time telling yast that I wanted a level 3 system: now I get the prompt for the passphrase. It is related to the new graphical boot screen, I forget the name. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
