As I mentioned in my original post I tried all available email clients and 
found them far inferior to Kmail. Then there is the great effort involved in 
converting all existing emails over to a different format and then there is 
the problem with mail filtering. All this to end up with a crappy email client 
which does not meet my needs.

I prefer my solution using the old version of Kmail until kmail 2 becomes 
stable, even if this means running it in a virtual.
