Donovan,
Firstly my apologies for the delayed reply. The URL above is invalid to me...not sure why but no matter. I only want to use the Yast interface for the creating of a SAMBA Server and nothing else for two reasons....Firstly to get this to work functionally for me and secondly if I cant achieve this via the Yast interface I want to clearly bug report it.
Functionally I need to share info between my LAN and my WIFI LCD/LED TV/ MS Windows 7 PC's; for movie and music and image sharing from my file server...My SONY connects to my LAN no issue but cannot see my Linux LAN, only other MS PC's. I cannot get my Linux LAN to be both accessible and visible to my Windows & PC's let alone share content with my TV.
Yes all devices are on the same LAN and netmask and I have no firewall issues as all are behind hardware security. I know how to drive windows 7 easy...but the GUI Yast SAMBA Server running on my file Server is just not visible. I don’t host my own domain locally and are using workgroup communality for the SAMBA common ID.

Be sure to also configure your firewall as well to allow samba and netbios through.
Refer to swerdna samba site: http://opensuse.swerdna.org/susesambaserver.html
It has an excellent walkthrough for setting up samba shares in opensuse.

I use a web hosting company to host my web site - much cheaper that way. I have a Notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium on and I have it configured for a 'Workplace' and a 'workgroup'
Using nothing but yast, if I can set up a SAMBA with too much command line input; could someone help me create a working SAMBA Server.
I have already configured Yast in SAMBA Server including the workgroup name that is constant and not a DC. Best if I add a screen shot.
I cannot do anything that refers to a domain as their is none.
I have also set-up in Yast Windows domain membership and just input the same work group name.
No Matter what I cannot see my MS PC and my MS PC cannot see my PC that has a SAMBA Server running..Yes they are both on they same subnet...
I think a pic would help enormously in this case also I don’t know what to do with the various relevant components in KDE's System Setup

Make sure your share is marked "browsable" as yes.
And you have to make one more step. Using Dolphin file manager, go to the directory that is your actual share, and make the permissions there writable by what ever group you want your samba share to be. (In other words, Samba will show the share, but you have to make your linux file system as writable for that share too). Hope this helps.
