Previously to my HP DV7-3085DX (which works perfectly under openSUSE
12.1) I had a Toshiba P105-S6207.  That laptop died in the sense that it
wouldn't turn on anymore; but thanks to a local guy with a pile of junk
[spare parts] it has been resurrected.   This message is just to put on
the record that this laptop works perfectly with openSUSE 12.1.
Previously under 10.3 (the last distribution it ran) I had to play with
the ACPI to get sound and manually load the finger print reader module.
But after I reinstalled openSUSE 11.4 via CD and then zypper dup'd to
openSUSE 12.1 [all of which worked perfectly] ... everything "just
works".   Although this laptop is now 5+ years old performance is
suprisingly good and I can log right into the GNOME Shell using the
finger print reader.   Audio "just works".  Wifi "just works"

If someone needs a great laptop on the cheap and you can find one -
picking up a used one of these would be a solid investment.  It has one
of my favorite-of-all-time laptop keyboards.
