I have seen similar reports, related to some kde4 versions, and perhaps, to
kernel 3.

If it is kde, upgrade to kde48, I think it is. I don't follow kde
development closely.

If it is the kernel, related to big file copy, there was a comment of a
boot parameter. I can look it up again.
