Hi Given: SL 12.1 with xfce . Keyboard and mouse are connected via a USB KVM Switch. Problem: After the user switches to another box via the KVM Switch and back to to its Linux box the keyboard does not function anymore. The mouse is still working. Workaround: The user unplugs the keyboard from the USB KVM switch and reconnects the keyboard. Example: /var/log/messages during a KVM switch forth and back Mar 7 12:25:08 tcpc2104 kernel: [18129.403747] usb 6-1.3: USB disconnect, device number 45 Mar 7 12:25:08 tcpc2104 kernel: [18129.443749] hub 6-1:1.0: hub_port_status failed (err = -71) Mar 7 12:25:08 tcpc2104 kernel: [18129.443756] hub 6-1:1.0: connect-debounce failed, port 3 disabled Mar 7 12:25:08 tcpc2104 kernel: [18129.500044] usb 6-1: USB disconnect, device number 39 Mar 7 12:25:08 tcpc2104 kernel: [18129.500049] usb 6-1.1: USB disconnect, device number 46 Mar 7 12:25:08 tcpc2104 kernel: [18129.512141] usb 6-1.2: USB disconnect, device number 44 Mar 7 12:25:09 tcpc2104 kernel: [18131.070028] usb 6-1: new low speed USB device number 47 using uhci_hcd Mar 7 12:25:10 tcpc2104 kernel: [18131.235057] usb 6-1: New USB device found, idVendor=06f2, idProduct=0011 Mar 7 12:25:10 tcpc2104 kernel: [18131.235063] usb 6-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 Mar 7 12:25:10 tcpc2104 kernel: [18131.235068] usb 6-1: Product: USB KVM Switch Mar 7 12:25:10 tcpc2104 kernel: [18131.235071] usb 6-1: Manufacturer: USB KVM Switch Mar 7 12:25:10 tcpc2104 mtp-probe: checking bus 6, device 47: "/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.1/usb6/6-1" Mar 7 12:25:10 tcpc2104 kernel: [18131.253874] input: USB KVM Switch USB KVM Switch as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.1/usb6/6-1/6-1:1.0/input/input48 Mar 7 12:25:10 tcpc2104 kernel: [18131.254023] generic-usb 0003:06F2:0011.002E: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.10 Keyboard [USB KVM Switch USB KVM Switch] on usb-0000:00:1d.1-1/input0 Mar 7 12:25:10 tcpc2104 kernel: [18131.270807] input: USB KVM Switch USB KVM Switch as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.1/usb6/6-1/6-1:1.1/input/input49 Mar 7 12:25:10 tcpc2104 kernel: [18131.270967] generic-usb 0003:06F2:0011.002F: input,hidraw1: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [USB KVM Switch USB KVM Switch] on usb-0000:00:1d.1-1/input1 Mar 7 12:25:10 tcpc2104 mtp-probe: bus: 6, device: 47 was not an MTP device As we see only the mouse will be recognized again.
