The bugs have been reported... by others... what I find really odd is... some people are not seeing this.. yet I see it on every machine I've installed it on over the weekend. I haven't tested in VirtualBox yet - maybe tonight. I've got to wonder... why some people see it and others don't.
did you try with a new user account, in case it's a configuration issue?
I'll look closer at the repo differences we have... see if I can spot it. From what I read, it's a QT thing.. maybe you've got a newer QT than I do? I'm using 4.8.0.245.1 (comes from my KDE4.7.4 Factory install)....
my Qt is the same as your's. somehow i don't think it's anything to do with the additional repos. from the 'exotic' one's i'm using just one or two packages for a specific purpose. that shouldn't have any impact on KDE's task manager.
other than it being a config. issue somewhere in your HOME, i have no idea what the problem might be.
<Sigh> C keeps talking about him installing his 4.8 from the UPSTREAM repo(s) and you are talking about installing v4.8 from the OPENSUSE repos. I don't know who is jerking whom in all this......maybe it's me....dunno..... (And now, suddenly, another repo comes into play called Tumbelweed. HOW MANY REPOS ARE THERE TO DO BATTLE WITH WHEN IT COMES TO OPENSUSE, for chrissake!?) BC -- The wise man does at once what a fool does finally.
