The openSUSE Gnome default setup does not have a login sound configured/shipped, that's why you don't get one there.
You'll have to copy the login sound (prferably .ogg) to /usr/share/sounds/freedesktop/stereo/desktop-login.ogg
Well I just copied the KDE login sound to this location. I copied the file 'KDE-Sys-Log-In-Short.ogg' (from /usr/share/sounds) to /usr/share/sounds/freedesktop/stereo and changed the name to 'desktop-login.ogg' (hope that changing name is required). Now the login sound comes in KDE. Where should I copy the same file to get the login sound in XFCE too?
