As i tested my skype service on lenovo z570 opensuse 12.1, i heard a rather disturbing noise. I have tried to fix the microphone audio channel, by inspecting devices through Kmix, but i am not an expert at all. What i can report is: Capture device is 'Internal Audio Analog Stereo' , with volume almost at its max level. Capture Streams shows no device.
In the system settings, Phonon seems to be ok. Same noise, switching from gstreamer to xine backend
Any ideas?
Any microphone testing utility?
thank you Paolo
Noise sounds like what? Be advised that Skype messes with the mic volume on almost every platform you use t on. Do the Skype audio test by calling skype voice test and it should remember those settings and try to apply them on each call. In any event, are you listening with headphones or speakers? With speakers, skypy is in a constant feedback fight with itself, (echo cancellation) and this can lead to really chopy sound. Sometimes they do this with pre-tranmission adjustment of the voice packets for those plat forms where they can't adjust mice volume without root capability (such as Android 3.x). -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
