RE: after selecting "installation" add "manual=1" (without quotes) as a boot
parameter, start confirming kernel modules until it hangs.
Thanks for the tip. Same result, Green shwoosh splash screen, no text,
unresponsive. I'm cool with leaving the BIOS NIC setting on "Enabled with
PXE", but it's a snag that someone else may run into.
Even after a successful install, switching the BIOS NIC setting to "Enabled"
will make the OS unbootable until it is switched back to "Enabled with PXE".
FYI, the NIC is a Broadcom 57xx NetXtreme.
