You didn't mention what desktop you are using.

There are loads of options and possibilities depending on exactly what
you're looking for.

One tool is KDiskFree http://kde.org/applications/system/kdiskfree/
There are also several KDE4 plasma widgets that show various bits of
useful info about your drive space.

Another is Disk Usage Analyzer (aka baobab) for Gnome.
http://library.gnome.org/users/baobab/3.2/baobab.html

One or both of these are probably already installed on your openSUSe
system depending on what choices you made on install.  If they are not
there, they will be installable via your software manager (YaST).
