is it possible to disable tracker without deinstalling gnome? I use KDE but would like to keep the gnome installation.
rpm -ql tracker | grep autostart, edit those desktop files as root. and remove the KDE entry from the OnlyShowIn line.
Note that GNOME apps that you use in a KDE session will not have tracker available unless you start it manually, I think the command line tool for that is tracker-control - I can't check this right now.
