I got a cheap Intel SSD and have been using it as the only drive in my
netbook for around a year now, with no issues. I abuse it weekly,
trying out different distros -- though I think I might just stick with
openSUSE now.

Now that all SSDs support TRIM and firmwares properly spread out their
writes, I think most of the SSD myths have been broken.
