Enigmail 1.3.3 works with Thunderbird 8. And the openSUSE package for
Thunderbird 8 also contains that. So what is your issue exactly.
(Enigmail 1.3.3 has a few regressions but the basics work for me)

I tried that package, and though it installed OK, the setup wizard
couldn't complete, as it didn't accept the location of gpg that I gave
it, namely /usr/bin/gpg

Bob

In fact, it is also complaining that enigmime service is not available.

--quote from warning dialog--
Enigmime Service not available

Failed to initialize Enigmail.
Send unencrypted message?
--end quote--

I can't find that in YaST > Runlevel services. What am I missing?

Bob

Please ignore the above :( My bad, I'd failed to upgrade T'bird from 7 to 8.

Apologies for reducing the S/N ratio on the list.

Bob
