What is with Tumbleweed and Evergreen? Is Evergreen for older servers in
production a good solution? I heard that Tumbleweed is the future of
openSUSE's upgrade strategy, and that it is quite a mess. I have done
upgrades in the 9.x and 10.x versions, with unpleasant consequences. I
do not have time for upgrade problems any more, and also not for 10.0,
11.0 and 12.0.

Then install a newer version on new hardware and when you are satisfied that is running to your satisfaction migrate your data and move it into production, you know the normal way to "upgrade".
