Yes, you proved thqat the binary file exists, now run it.
I did.
Please post the output of "exportfs" - if you did already, I didn't see any exported filesystems.
There was no output....
This may be a stupid question, are the services running?
Not stupid at all - Mark, did you configure /etc/exports and did you start the NFS server?
It turns out I was starting just nfs, and not nfsserver on server1.....doh!
