I'm now in 'safe' mode, but of course the graphics are horrible, etc.
Can anyone help me out here? How do I get the kernel to stop using the 'nouveau' module so I can install the nvidia driver and get back to my regular system with my new monitor?

Just in case you forgot. Type: "nomodeset " at boot time.
And maybe you will need to edit bootloader to boot "nomodeset" too
So the system will not look for Nouveau driver.
<snip> That seemed to work. At least now I can use the onboard graphics. It's a shame that two cards (g210's) from two different brand names, won't work on this MOBO. I wasted money I can ill afford to waste.
