Re: [opensuse] How to make banshee encrypt to mp3?
Put the priority of packman above opensuse, and then runzypper dup, that way it
will replace all the broken packages from opensuse with working one from
packman.

Did not do the trick - I guess I have to log a bugzilla.

Try the one-click multimedia installation as described in the forums.
It rarely fails.

Hi,

I have pulled in all of the below from packman - you can see that
they
all have "pm" in them.

I think the problem is the missing gstreamer-lame package. I have
found
this package for other distros, but not for openSUSE. This would
explain
why while having both lame and gstreamer installed, lame does not
show
up when I run

As you are seeing, the multimedia packages that ship with openSUSE
are generally broken or incomplete.

Add the packman repository to your system and more than likely it
will work.

It looks like what I need is the gstreamer lame plugin, but nothing

that shows up in my configured repos.

but mp3(LAME) still won't show up in banshee. How can I test if
in the
gstreamer layer all is ok? Right now I get this:

novell@linux:~/Desktop> gst-inspect-0.10 | grep mp3
typefindfunctions: audio/mpeg: mp3, mp2, mp1, mpga

ffmpeg: ffdemux_mp3: FFmpeg MPEG audio layer 2/3 demuxer
ffmpeg: ffmux_mp3: FFmpeg MPEG audio layer 3 formatter (not
recommended, use id3v2mux instead)
flump3dec: flump3dec: Fluendo MP3 Decoder (IPP build)

I downloaded flump3dec separately from fluendo again.

Any hints?
