Thanks for helping me clarify. I am pretty new at this and don't always know what information to put out in the email. Video card - I am plugged into the VGA port on my motherboard, which is an msi k9vgm_v. I looked up the documentation on the motherboard, and it does not say anything about what it uses to run the video on it - it only says that it has a VGA port. So I am a bit lost on what to say on that one. Monitor model - it is a Samsung S20A300B openSUSE release - openSUSE 11.4 (x86_64) full update - I don't think so. How do I do that? When I installed thunderbird I updated the repositories, but I am not sure how to do a full update.
