Fortunately we still have KDE 3 which is far better than any of gnomes or other

all the recent desktop development is supposed to be an

Yes, it's Firday. Let's not start the "kde not ready for use"
extravaganza again. Please.
I looked in vain for any mention of KDE, but it seems to me Patrick's
is the first. So what is he prattling on about?
If I'm correct he just means the type of conversation and it does not matter
whether you put a KDE/Gnome or whatever new application into that "xy not
ready for use" or "does xy really such that bad?" bit. It's always the same
people that bring this kind of topic to the mailinglist and it's always the
same people that take part in that conversation with the same attitude
towards
new things and development they don't regard as sensible.
It should be CLEAR that David is asking a legitimate question here.
IS IT? (rethoric question) It would have been legitimate if he did not
(again)
mix negative opinion with a legitimate question. Something like "Gnome 3,
some
question" would have been sensible, asking how to change themes etc. not
"does
it really suck that bad". Just think about how you would react if somebody
came to you and started a conversation about a/your project with the question
whether your project really sucks that bad. You would certainly assume that
he
is just interested in some sensible criticism and only intends to ask
sensible
questions…
IMHO emails with that kind of beginning/subject belong on a personal blog and
not on a mailinglist whose purpose is to answer questions and not to start
flamewars, blame projects etc. instead of asking wheter xy sucks. That's not
a
sensible question. I guess that's clear, isn't it!
