Hi,

reading through the whole thread, I'm still not sure what you really want.

If its simply to mount your USB-devices, then (assuming hal is running on your
system and halmount is installed) you can receive a list of all devices
attached by simply typing halmount on the command line.
It gives you a list of devices and their mount point (if mounted).
You can then simply mount a device with "halmount devicename" using the
devicename that halmount showed you before.
