[opensuse] 11.2 does not automount ..

Dear List,
I have problem with removable drives in suse 11.2 / kde.
.. they simply do not automount. I can mount them manually as root, but that
is quite cumbersome.
I tried to configure from system settings => removable devices
but no success so far.
