google-chrome is running fine here (oS 11.4, KDE:Distro:Factory) from this
repo:

http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/x86_64

This gives a 404 error

you can't browse it, but add it to your repos.

at which i arrived via this URL:
http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?platform=linux_fedora_x86_64

This one works and installs. i586 in my case.

...

/opt/google/chrome> google-chrome
/usr/bin/google-chrome: error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

you'll have to install libpng12-0, available from OSS. apparently this google
repo didn't get it's dependencies straight.

or:

/opt/google/chrome> ./chrome
./chrome: error while loading shared libraries: libnss3.so.1d: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory.

don't know about this one, never seen it. mozilla-nss provides libnss3.so; don't know
about "~.1d"

What's the command to launch it at the cli anyway?

google-chrome
