At the end of http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Bugreport_X it tells how to test the latest X11. In addition to specifying the latest X in: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_XX.X/ it suggests using the latest kernel in: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/openSUSE_XX.X/ In my setup, I have only been using the X repo to get new X versions. Even though these are happy to install with the kernel I have, could this be a cause of some issues I am seeing with nvidia? Does everyone else who uses the X repo above also use the Kernel repo above? In my case, XX.X is 11.2.
