I've got an EEE 1005HA and it's fine with openSUSE or pretty much any Linux distro I throw at it...
Does your Wifi works flawlessly? Does it survive a suspend? I bought an 1005HA that came pre-installed with Ubuntu (09.10 with backported ath9k module). Up to now, I was too lazy to put openSUSE (or Smeegol?) on it. It irks me that I have regular connection problems with the Atheros Wifi. Well, but not enough to do a re-install... ;-) Other notebooks have no such problems to connect to my AP that's just 3 meters (9 ft) away. So it is clearly a hardware/firmware or software (Ubuntu/kernel) problem that's specific to my 1005HA. So, if you tell me, that this works for you without any problems with openSUSE 11.3 (maybe w/ updated kernel from HEAD?), this might be the trigger to invest the work and give it a try. Or maybe I should make and try out a Live USB from 11.4 RC1 that's about to come out RSN?
